Stainless steel grade 317L is a low carbon version of grade 317 stainless steel. It has the same high strength and corrosion resistance as 317 steel but can produce stronger welds due to the low carbon content. The following datasheet provides an overview of stainless steel grade 317L.
1. Corrosion resistance
Stainless steel plates can resist the erosion of acids, alkalis, and salts, and are generally used for high-temperature applications. High temperature applications require high sensitivity of materials, and stainless steel plates can meet this requirement.
2. High temperature oxidation resistance
Stainless steel plates also have high high-temperature oxidation resistance, but the oxidation rate of stainless steel plates is also affected by the environment, and oxidation may not always occur.
3. Physical performance
The thermal conductivity of metal determines the total heat transfer coefficient of metal, and the heat transfer coefficient of stainless steel plate is superior to other metals with higher thermal conductivity.
